Day 4: Churchill and a tasteless memorial at Harrods

Alright so onto Day 4. This trip was going by pretty quickly! We spent the next day in London, and of course we didn't get in until like noon. I had been up early again that day, another surprise. Monica called me earlyish saying that she was back at Oxford, and could she come to Kingston? Of course I said. We agreed to meet in London sometime that day. So just as we are getting off the train at Waterloo, Monica calls, she is at Victoria. She must have gotten off the phone with me, and jumped on the bus to London. So we met at Victoria, and that is where we ate. We ate at the Shakespeare Tavern, a pub, but a very slow one. We didn't finish eating until like 2pm, it was sooo stupid. After we ate, Monica went back to Kingston since she was so jet lagged, and we moved onto the Tower of London.

We got there though, and we missed the last guided tour by like 10 minutes. Like I said the theme of the week. Mom said it was useless without a guided tour, so we left, and went to the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms. Sweet! The Cabinet War Rooms of course we used in WWII by Churchill and his people, and when the War ended they got up and left. So we all had audio guides, and I stayed pretty close to Mom while going through. Going through museums of stuff that Mom likes, well you stay close, because she gives more information. Like we were watching parts of his funeral, and she told me who everyone was, and in other parts we talked about what we had seen. Good thing though I stayed close to Mom because MK and Jay didn't even see the Churchill Museum, and we did! It was soooo cool. The Cabinet War Rooms were so interesting, we saw their bedrooms, their offices, were they met everyday... it was really cool. I didn't really know that much about Churchill, but now I do. The museum was all about him, his childhood, education, during the war, after the war, hobbies, it was the whole deal. So interesting.

So we were there for more than two hours, but I could have stayed for longer, it was so interesting. But we did leave and went to Harrods! Love Harrods. It was a pretty busy day at Harrods, they are having their sale.. so everything is just down to outrageous. We got tea though at Harrods, and I found out that I like afternoon tea! Yummy, and of course scones. Mom bought me a tea pot, and that night Monica and I used it. We did look around a lot of the store, but not everything, and found a memorial for Diana and her boyfriend. Really tasteless, it had the engagement ring he was going to give her, and an empty wine glass that was used that night. It was bad. It also had their pictures and flowers all around it.

After Harrods, we took the train to Richmond where we met Monica for dinner. We walked all over Richmond looking for a pub to eat at, but it was late, so we ended up at Pizza Express. I have nothing against Pizza Express, I think its a great place! We called it a night at 10:30pm though, and we went our separate ways. Monica and I came back to the Bridge House and did some stuff for our Germany trip. And that was Day 4.
